long beach, california - bright, sunny, a perfect town, right? but on the outskirts lies a warehouse, transformed into a boarding school. here, it is constantly dark, whether clouds cover it or not. it’s the kind of building that causes a shiver down a person’s spine as they walk by it. strange for a building filled with kids right?
but these aren’t any kids. these kids are special. behind barred windows and padlocked doors these kids aren’t learning math or english – they’re being taught to fight, wield weapons - to kill. established in 1902, the edington academy for gifted teenagers secretly teaches young adults to become assassins. they are trained to be the best, and that they are.
some choose to attend the academy, others are forced by parents, some have no choice as the academy adopts children from the local orphanage if they hit fifteen, or show signs of talent.
and behind all this, the edingtons are researching a new way to make superhumans, to make their assassins more effective and almost unstoppable.
but when these kids start to discover the truth about the academy, as well as love, friendship, hate and free will, what will happen? and can the academy survive?
the beginning of the end.
